New Pre-Health Club: Pre-Med Book Club

Are you a book-lover on the pre-med/pre-health path? If so, I have just the club for you…

Vital Readings is a book club that seeks to explore the field of medicine through an interdisciplinary lens. We read ~2 books/semester and will meet 1-2 times/month to discuss and connect with the stories and ideas we are reading. The pre-health path is intense and jam-packed with rigorous STEM courses. Oftentimes we can get so caught up studying the facts that we forget the emotional & humanistic aspects of healthcare. This book club provides a chill environment to engage medicine from a variety of perspectives (memoirs, social sciences, policy, graphic novels, and short stories/essays). Please see the attached flyer for more details.

Experience the power of storytelling with a group of like-minded peers. Vital Readings hopes to inspire and transform our perspectives on our shared journey toward the field of medicine. We will begin activities in the Fall Semester. If you are interested in joining, please fill out this Google form & join our GroupMe! We are also looking to expand our leadership team. No experience is required to apply.

If you are interested in taking a role or have any questions, please feel free to email Esha Chakraborti at e.chakraborti@ufl.edu.
