2017-2018 PTCAS Application Is Live!

2017-2018 PTCAS APPLICATION IS OPEN: The new PTCAS application is now on the 3X platform and open to applicants! Customer service is available to answer applicant questions at ptcasinfo@ptcas.org. Advisors are encouraged to create a test application account. Go to www.ptcas.org and select the "Login to Application" button under Quick Links. Use the word "test" as part of your name, so PTCAS may quickly identify it as a dummy account (eg, "TestRoss, TestLibby"). Do not submit your test applications. You are also invited to view and print a PDF version of the instructions.
NEW PROGRAMS IN PTCAS: We are pleased to welcome 7 new programs for the 2017-2018 cycle. Visit the PTCAS Directory at http://www.ptcas.org/Directory/ for program-specific requirements. Campbell University, Gannon University-Erie, Gannon University-Ruskin, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, and University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences-CA, FL, TX.
ADVISOR PORTAL FOR PTCAS: Advisors who wish to access their students’ data for 2016-2017 cycle must login to the PTCAS Advisor Portal at https://portal.ptcas.org/advisors17/index.cgi. Final admission decisions for 2016-2017 will be available in October 2017 via the PTCAS Advisor Portal (and not the UAP). PTCAS will move to the Universal Advisor Portal for the 2017-2018 cycle.  Beginning in fall 2018, advisors will be able to use the UAP to search for applicants by the programs to which they applied and admission decisions entered. Not all programs report admission decisions to PTCAS. Applicants must grant PTCAS permission to share this data with their advisors.
PTCAS 3.X Welcome Guide for Advisors: A "Welcome to CAS 3.X Guide” was previously shared with advisors and is available upon request. The Guide highlights only the most significant changes to the PTCAS application in the 2017-2018 cycle.
APTA Financial Education Program: You and your students are invited to visit the new APTA Financial Education Program, an online tool designed to increase financial literacy, including in the area of student debt. This free educational platform offers an individualized experience to users through videos, articles, webinars, quizzes, online communities, live chats, calculators, and more. Go to https://enrich.apta.org
DPT Education Virtual Fair:  APTA invites you and your students to register for a free DPT Education Virtual Fair scheduled on September 12, 2017 from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm ET. This fair will allow users to participate in live chats with Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) programs from across the country. Your students can use the fair to find the best DPT program for them, ask questions from the comfort of a computer, and get tips on how to best prepare for the admissions process. Attendees must register in advance for this free event. Learn more and register. Our partner, CareerEco, is available to respond to questions about the fair at apta@careereco.com. Go to http://www.careereco.com/events/APTA to register.

UF Habitat for Humanity- Summer B welcome email!

Hello friends!

To those of you who are new- welcome and thank you for your interest in UF Habitat for Humanity, and to those of you returning, welcome back! 😊

UF Habitat for Humanity seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness in Gainesville and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience action. To accomplish these goals, we invite people of all backgrounds, races, and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need. Through volunteer labor, we are able to help provide housing in the local community and these Habitat houses are sold to partner families at no profit and financed with affordable loans.

If you are interested in getting involved with UF Habitat for Humanity during Summer B, please follow us on Facebook. This is where we will be posting our build sign ups and any updates we have for you. For your convenience, here is where you can sign up for this week's upcoming build. We ask that you please fill out the form by Thursday at noon so we have enough time to organize a carpool and order lunch for the appropriate number of volunteers. You will receive an email with more details (what to wear, what to bring, where to go) by the Friday before the build, at the latest.

In the Fall and Spring semesters we will hold bi-weekly meetings where we will have speakers and/or activities, and build sign ups. There will be other volunteer opportunities in addition to our builds, as well as leadership opportunities within the organization. More information about these meetings will be sent closer to the beginning of Fall.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me personally or to contact us via Facebook. Thanks once again for your interest and involvement and we hope to see you soon!

Best,

Tristen Townsend
