ESOL Achievers works to support and guide low-income immigrant students, specifically those in the ESOL program(English to Speakers of Other Language) at Gainesville High School (GHS), through academic and professional mentorship/tutorship. Currently, we seek to build an educational system that positions equity at the center to provide these students with access to the support and opportunities to achieve their full potential.
At ESOL Achievers we believe in the power of investing not only in the community we aim to serve–our Achievers–but also in the leaders that devote their time to this mission. Our goal is not only to develop and create opportunities for the Achievers, but also to prepare UF leaders for their future career opportunities. As a result, by being part of EA, students get access to our broad network of professionals that have gone through the program and are put to the test to launch initiatives, manage budgets, test and execute their ideas and take ownership of various bodies of work.
I am attaching a form, with a due date of March 10, 2022, for those of your students wanting to volunteer as a mentor and/or tutor.
