UF’s International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) Competition Team -- Applications Open Now!

Applications are now open for the University of Florida iGEM research team for 2024! The iGEM Competition is an annual, worldwide synthetic biology competition where multidisciplinary teams work together to design, build, test, and measure a system of their own design.

For the 2024 iGEM cycle the UFlorida student-run team is excited to recruit motivated members with the hopes of going for Gold at the Grand Jamboree in Porte de Versailles, Paris.  In 2023, we earned a Silver medal (the same ranking as MIT, Harvard, Princeton, Duke, Oxford, and Stanford) for our project "A Multifaceted Model to Study Sepsis Progression" and members of our team were flown to Paris by UF donors to present!

Please see our 2023 wiki and our application below for more information. We are looking for STEM students who value collaboration, as well as have a passion for research and our organoid focus.
