The Office of Academic Community Programs and Partnerships of the FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is pleased to be able to offer an intensive six -day residential premedical summer program- The Doctors of Tomorrow Program. This will be our 13th year. Students check into housing on Sunday afternoon and check out late Friday afternoon. All expenses once on campus are paid for by the medical school.
The Doctors of Tomorrow (DOT) Program includes activities that span the following areas: academic enrichment, learning skills development, communication skills, counseling, career development and character building and enrichment activities. The focus is on developing strategies to not only be a better student, but also to develop the knowledge, skills, experiences and attributes to be a competitive medical school applicant.
To qualify, students must be Florida Residents (US Citizens or Permanent Residents) with at least 60 credits completed by the program, including 2 biology and 2 chemistry courses. In addition, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: - First-generation college students: students whose parents have not earned a 4- year college degree or - Low socioeconomic status or
-Students with diverse backgrounds
This year the program will run from Sunday, May 19, 2024, through Friday, May 24, 2024.
