My name is Yashaswini Meduri, and I am one of the Directors of Educational Services at Gators for Refugee Medical Relief (GRMR). GRMR is a student-run non-profit organization that aids refugees locally and abroad.
We have numerous opportunities for members to get involved, whether it be through fundraising efforts, volunteering at medical clinics and workshops, in-person and virtual tutoring, and much more!
Virtual tutoring is one of our main service opportunities in which members are able to work directly with our families. Tutors are paired with one student and work with them 1:1 for about 1.5 to 2 hours a week for an entire semester. We provide many resources and lessons for tutors to use, so there is minimal planning needed.
