MentorGNV Fall 2023 Applications Open Now

Hello Pre-Health Students! Are you looking for a way to get involved with the Gainesville community and volunteer with Alachua County students?

My name is Nayana Sojin and I am the 2023-2024 Executive Vice President of MentorGNV, a student organization that provides students at Alachua County Public Schools with mentorship. Our mission is to instill a positive mindset in the students by providing someone who is not only a role model, but a friend, to serve as their mentor. Children in K-12 schools are going through so many challenges both individually and as a whole within the school system. It is so important, now more than ever, that they have mentors to help them navigate those challenges and advocate for their educational rights. At MentorGNV, we provide a great opportunity for UF students to tremendously help the Gainesville community. We volunteer at local elementary, middle, and high schools through one-on-one and group mentoring. This is a service commitment that can take as little as 30 minutes out of your week but will have such a lasting impact on so many young minds here in our Gainesville community. This year, MentorGNV is also focused on outreach to students beyond the classroom, through educational initiatives such as science experiments run by the mentors and other fun activities.

Our applications for the Fall 2023 have officially opened just recently and will be due on Wednesday, 09/06, at 11:59 pm. Here is the application for new members: https://forms.gle/cHfD61iYbcbupB8X6
We invite you all to visit our Instagram (@mentorgnv) and/or website (https://www.mentorgnv.org/) for more information. You can also email us at mentorgnv@gmail.com for any questions!

We are so excited for this upcoming year! If you are willing, we would love for you to share this information to your friends, classmates, students, etc. so that we can bring in as many mentors as possible and increase support for local schools.

Thank you,

Nayana Sojin

Executive Vice President | MentorGNV 2023-2024
