MedBuddies: Medical Student Mentorship Program for Premedical Undergraduates

MedBuddies is a UF COM registered organization that pairs medical student mentors with premedical undergraduate mentees. MedBuddies provides a casual mentor/mentee relationship where you can feel comfortable asking all the questions you have about the journey into medical school, life as a medical student, etc. The requirements to be in the program are to meet with your mentor twice in the Fall 2023 semester and twice in the Spring 2024 semester; after Spring 2024, it would be up to your mentor to decide on whether they are able to continue mentoring you or not. Meetings can be either in person or via Zoom/Teams/etc. Other than the two required meetings per semester, the frequency of communication will be at the discretion of the mentor and mentee’s schedule. Also, we will be offering optional socials for mentees and mentors to meet in person.

Depending on the magnitude of the response we get, we might not be able to pair up everyone, but we will try our best! Even if you are not paired with a mentor, everyone who fills out the form below is invited to attend our informational panels and workshops.

If you can meet the requirements and are interested in being considered for a mentor, please be on the lookout for the form we will be sending out next week! We will send it out Monday, 8/21 and it will close Monday, August 28th at 11:59PM.

Please note:

1) If you have a current MedBuddy mentor, and you would like to continue working with them, reach out to your mentor and see if they are able to continue mentoring you this year. If they are able to and you want to continue with them as your mentor, you do not need to fill out this coming form. If this is the case for you, please email us your name and your mentor's name so that we can keep you both on the email list for events.

2) If your mentor is not able to continue mentoring you, or you would like a new mentor, please fill out this form when we send it next week.
