Health Education and Literacy Organization at UF

Good afternoon!

Health Education and Literacy Organization (HELO) are hosting a workshop this Thursday at 3 p.m about the importance of health literacy. Health literacy prevents countless Americans from accessing better health simply due to a lack of understanding. This is a very important topic that more pre-professionals need to be aware of and thus we're hosting this workshop to educate and advocate for.  Can this please be sent to the pre-health listserv?

 Thank you so much!!

About 90 million Americans are illiterate or read below an 8th level. Much of health information is given out at a 10th-grade level, preventing access to better health for many. Join us this Thursday to learn more about how to bridge this disparity and make an impact on underserved communities!
