| | | | Attention Trainees on T32 NIH Grants:We are currently enrolled in an important NIH-funded study titled E-STOP (Ending Sexual harassment: Teaching Of Principal investigators) that is currently open to enrollment of T32 PIs. E-STOP is a virtual multi-modal educational intervention aimed at combatting sexual harassment in biomedical research. I hope you’ll consider participating in this intervention as the sexual harassment trainings currently used at most institutions are largely ineffective at changing behavior and are not evidence-based. In addition, pilot data from T32 PIs show PIs do not feel very confident in their ability to respond to sexual harassment and are interested in further education on this topic. Thus, E-STOP responds to this specific need. E-STOP is the first educational program to incorporate recommendations from the literature and the Equal Employment Opportunity Council (EEOC) to include discussions on civility, microaggressions, upstanding, and bias to enable a better work culture. Why is this necessary? Because talking solely about sexual harassment is not enough to stop it from occurring. If you and any members of your program choose to participate, the incentives offered are as follows: up to $300 for Principal Investigators, up to $250 for mentors, and up to $100 for trainees in T32 programs. Additionally, there will be a potential opportunity for trainees to use a portion of the dataset (protecting participants’ confidential data) to conduct secondary analyses after data collection has been completed. As a complimentary service, participants assigned to the control condition will have the opportunity to access the content of the treatment condition after the study is completed.
To learn more about the potential benefits of our study, please visit the website or read these articles published by Stanford Medicine and Yale School of Medicine. To enroll in the study click here, and for any questions, please contact the research team at estopstudy@stanford.edu. | | | | |
