Dear Academia,  As the leaves turn, the SMART Scholarship’s December 1 application deadline is quickly approaching! Thanksgiving break is an ideal opportunity to help your students add the finishing garnish to their application.

Your involvement is the secret ingredient to enriching students’ academic journey. SMART provides the STEM leaders of tomorrow with a full scholarship, internship, and lasting career with the Department of Defense. If you know students are applying, check-in on their application progress. Not sure if students are applying? Send them a note about the opportunity and offer application support. SMART is a combined educational and workforce development opportunity for STEM students. SMART offers scholarships for undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students pursuing a STEM degree. Students who are attending historically Black colleges and universities, minority institutions, minority serving institutions, tribal colleges and universities, or women's colleges are encouraged apply.
