The Stethoscope Switch Podcast was recently started by Jessica Diana with two of their closest friends who they met while working as a medical scribe in the UF Shands Emergency Department. While working within this fast-paced environment, they've had the pleasure of making connections with various providers, including attending physicians, residents, PAs, NPs, support staff, etc. Through these interactions, many of UF Shands Emergency Department's scribes have realized that the path to medicine can be non-linear and have even altered their own career aspirations to a path that is more suitable to them. The perspectives and advice that these professionals have received have been invaluable, and they wanted to share the voices of our emergency room with other pre-health students who may lack knowledge about the different medical careers that are available.
TSSP decided to sit down with various ER staff to hear their stories through an interview-style format that hopefully proves educational and insightful to those considering a future career in medicine. The podcast is full of inspirational anecdotes and riveting advice.
