Mentorship Opportunity for Pre-Health Students

The Minority Health
Professional Mentorship Program (MHPMP) is an organization aimed at assisting
undergraduate students become competitive applicants to health professional
schools. The program is seeking mentees for the Fall of 2020 who are enrolled
at UF, interested in attending a health professional school (e.g. medical
school, nursing school, etc.), and identify as underrepresented individuals.
Mentors will assist mentees in their professional school application process
and provide valuable advice regarding life as a minority in the healthcare
field.

MHPMP will be a program in
which mentors and mentees will casually meet once a month for an hour to answer
questions and discuss how to become a more competitive applicant. Becoming a
mentee is not only a great way to get involved at UF, but is also a great way
to help increase diversity across the medical professions and the university.

If you are interested in
becoming a mentee, please follow the link below to complete a brief
application. We kindly ask that all forms be submitted no later than
September 16th.

For those
that are currently enrolled in MHPMP, there is no need to complete a new mentee
application
as you will continue to be
mentored by your mentor from the previous semester! A returning mentee form
link should have been sent to your email for you to fill out. Also, we would
gladly appreciate it if you share this email with peers you think might be interested
in participating in MHPMP.

Please feel free to email
MHPMP with any questions at
MHPMPUF@gmail.com. We thank you for your interest, and we look forward to viewing
your application.

Best regards,

Monica Echagarruga

President, Minority Health
Professional Mentorship Program (MHPMP)
