City of Gainesville Recruiting Afterschool Tutors

Hi,

College of Liberal Arts the City of Gainesville wants to thank you in advance for your support.  As the Interim Volunteer Program Coordinator for the City of Gainesville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, I am strongly recruiting those who have an interest in helping students. Students are in need of many activities to enhance personal development. The City of Gainesville PRCA currently has four recreation centers which offer an afterschool tutoring program for grades 1st – 8th

“A tutor is someone who generally works one-on-one with a student or a small group to provide enrichment, remedial, and other support like mentoring.”

I am sure there are many students who are passionate, willing and eager to be impactful in the lives of student’s grades 1st – 8th by rendering non-paid volunteer services at one of the four locations listed below.  This is where I need your help to spread the word, students can contact me directly at the information listed below to further discuss questions or concerns or simply complete the attached application along with a resume in a PDF file for review of their accomplishments.  After receiving and reviewing both, the student will be contacted directly to schedule an interview.

I have also attached additional volunteer information which list current and ongoing volunteer opportunities with the City of Gainesville.  Perhaps you will find interest in additional volunteer opportunities or group volunteer opportunities. Please stay connected by visiting www.cityofgainesvilleparks.org.
