North Florida Sewing Center Internship Program Opportunity

Good afternoon,

My name is Alyssa Davis and I am one of the North Florida Sewing Center's internship coordinators. We are currently recruiting interns for the Fall semester.

About our organization and the internship program:

The North Florida Sewing Center is a crafting/sewing service organization that is dedicated to increasing access to menstrual products by making and distributing reusable menstrual pads locally and internationally. Some of our other projects include quilts for the homeless, fidget mats for patients with dementia, crocheted hats for children's hospitals, and so much more. We also host various classes for the public and work with over 20 other non-profit organizations throughout the state.

In addition, we also offer internships each semester for people of all ages for volunteer hours and school credit. As part of our internship program, interns will learn to sew, serge, how to rotary cut fabric, several other non-sewing skills, data entry, and running events. Interns will also be able to attend outreach events to inform others about period poverty, NFSC's mission, and work on various projects. Our fall intern application deadline is Wednesday, August 22nd and our required training will be held in person on Friday, August 23, 6-9 pm, and Saturday, August 24, 9-4 pm. To apply, please email your resume to InternsNFSC @gmail.com.

Thank you,
Alyssa Davis
Intern Co-Coordinator
