Doctors of Tomorrow Summer Program: FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine


It has come to my attention that there was a problem with the sending/receiving of this message this past Saturday. Therefore, I am resending the email. The Office of Student Affairs of the FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is pleased to be able to again offer an intensive one-week premedical summer program- The Doctors of Tomorrow Program. This is our 7th year. Students will live in on-campus housing from Sunday afternoon through Friday evening, and all costs for housing, food and materials related to the program are paid by the FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.
The Doctors of Tomorrow (DOT) Program includes activities that span the following areas: academic enrichment, learning skills development, communication skills, counseling, career development and character building and enrichment activities. The focus is on developing strategies to not only be a better student, but also to develop the knowledge, skills, experiences and attributes to be a competitive medical school applicant.
To qualify, students must be Florida Residents (US Citizens or Permanent Residents) with at least 60 credits completed by the program, including 2 biology and 2 chemistry courses. In addition, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- From a group underrepresented in medicine (URM)
- First-generation college students: students whose parents have not earned a 4 year college degree
- Low socioeconomic status
This year the program will run from Sunday, May 20, 2018 through Friday, May 25, 2018.

The application deadline for all materials is March 1, 2018
