My name is Dr. Holly T. Moses, a faculty member from the
Department of Health Education and Behavior (College of HHP) and Chapter
Sponsor for the Eta Sigma Gamma Alpha Lambda Chapter health education honorary.
Eta Sigma Gamma and the UF Student Health Care Center host an annual Sex in the
Swamp event each spring term to educate students on safe spring break
activities and tips. The event consists of three main activities: a LIVE
‘SEX’pert panel, educational booths, and the Condom Design Challenge.
This year, the theme is MASK-erade (MASK UP & WRAP UP)! Sex in the Swamp 2021 is
scheduled for Thursday, February 18, from 7PM-9PM. Due to the
pandemic, this year’s Sex in the Swamp will be the FIRST EVER virtual event.

In addition to the exciting main event, WE INVITE YOU to
participate in the Condom
Design Challenge. The Condom Design Challenge is inspired by the ONE
Condom® Project Condom Challenge. This challenge sparks the creativity of
individuals as they create garments and accessories made out of condoms. This
year, UF students are invited
to participate in the Condom Design Challenge by creating a positive health
promotion image that is focused on condoms.
UF students may work individually or in a group with one
other person (pairs) to create an image file for the Condom Design
Challenge. The image file should be no larger than 4” x 4”, and no
smaller than 3” x 3” (think sticker size). The image should generate a
positive message about condoms, as well as reflect a positive sexual health
promotion message. Each image must have a proper title. Teams (1 or 2 UF students) must
register in advance, and no later than Friday, February 12 at https://ufl.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bIt2TPVmdOpDspM.
After registering for the event, teams will complete their
condom design. The condom design must be submitted by 11:59pm (ET) on
Tuesday, February 16. Submissions must be emailed to ufetasigmagamma@gmail.com. The
image final must be converted to a PNG and attached as a file to the email.
The Condom Design Challenge will take place during the 2021
SEX in the SWAMP virtual event on Thursday, February 18. The event begins
at 7pm (ET), and the condom designs will be featured throughout the
event. Participants will begin voting (electronically) at approximately
7:30pm. Voting will last 15 minutes. The winning team will be announced
around 8:15pm and each member of the winning design group will receive a set
of Apple AirPods!
