Hello from
H.E.L.O!
Presenting the
Health Education Literacy Objective club at UF, this is a new club that targets
health disparities in the local population of Gainesville. Almost 50% of the
population cannot read or struggle to read and 9 out of 10 adults do not
understand the information provided in health centers. With such a vast number
of individuals being left out of fully utilizing their access to health, HELO
works to produce low-literacy applicable information in hospitals and doctor's
offices, just to name a few. Join HELO to help reduce this silent but yet
important health disparity.
