GHCC Case Writing Team Applications Open

My name is Sarah Nguyentran, and I am a student leader of the UF Global Health Case Competition (GHCC).  The UF GHCC provides interdisciplinary student teams with a hypothetical public health crisis and requires that they consider the complex political, social, and economic challenges associated with realistic health problems.  The winning team of the UF GHCC receives an all-expenses paid trip to compete in the International Global Health Case Competition at Emory University, and our teams are generally very competitive- the UF team beat out all Ivy League competitors to win a finalist position in last year’s competition!

The UF GHCC is currently recruiting a new case writing cohort for the 2019 UF intramural competition.  The GHCC is a unique opportunity for students from different academic backgrounds to work in interdisciplinary teams to create innovative solutions to real-world health problems, and as a member of the case writing team students will play a central role in defining and questioning relevant health crises for competition participants to address.  The case writing team is looking for both graduate and undergraduate students interested in the political, social, medical, legal, and economic factors the contribute to dynamic health challenges, and the GHCC will be accepting applications (found on https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfafOlH_EP0GTvxA2_A8lnRVeS34tvAvfyP2t8GxfPUXeqwag/viewform) until 11:59 pm on September 21. I was hoping that you might consider distributing information about this unique opportunity to your students- we hope to have a diverse, talented case writing team that can formulate a meaningful case for competition this year.

Please feel free to reach out to me if you would like any more information about the GHCC, and I appreciate any assistance you can provide in our recruitment efforts.

Best regards,

Sarah Nguyentran
