2016-2017 PTCAS Application Is Open!

2016-2017 PTCAS APPLICATION IS OPEN: The new PTCAS application is now open to applicants! Customer service is available to answer applicant questions at ptcasinfo@ptcas.org.  Advisors are encouraged to create a test application account. Go to the PTCAS website at www.ptcas.org and select the "Login to Application" button under Quick Links. Use the word "test" as part of your name, so PTCAS may quickly identify it as a dummy account (eg, "TestRoss, TestLibby"). Do not submit your test applications.

NEW PROGRAMS IN PTCAS: PTCAS is pleased to welcome new participating programs for the 2016-2017 admissions cycle for a total of 209!

NEW TRAFFIC RULES FOR DPT PROGRAMS AND APPLICANTS: The American Council of Academic Physical Therapy (ACAPT), a component of APTA, approved a set of admissions traffic rules for PT education programs and applicants. The rules are effective beginning in the 2016-2017 admissions cycle and available to the public on the ACAPT website. While all DPT programs and applicants are expected to abide by these rules, APTA and PTCAS cannot comment on or enforce them.  Please contact ACAPT directly with questions about these rules at acapt@apta.org.

DATA FOR 2015-2016 CYCLE: Please login to the 2015-2016 PTCAS Advisor Portal to access data on your students who designated your institution as the “primary” college attended and authorized PTCAS to release their information to advisors. Beginning in late October 2016, advisors with a 2015-2016 account will be able to view the list of designated DPT programs for their students in the previous cycle and the final admission decision submitted by each program (if submitted to PTCAS). PTCAS does not yet use Liaison’s Universal Advisor Portal because we are still on the 2.0 application platform.

  • Current Users: Go to the PTCAS Advisor Portal and click the "Forgot Your Password" link to retrieve your account information. Please make sure your account is active before October, so you may access the student reports, once available.
  • New Users: If you do not have a PTCAS Advisor Portal account, go to the portal  to request an account and allow 1-3 business days for the new account to be activated.
CAS 3.X PLATFORM IN 2017-2018:  PTCAS will transition to the CAS 3.X application platform in the 2017-2018 admissions cycles. As a result, some application questions and processes will change for applicants next year. PTCAS will also not pull any re-applicant data forward into the new cycle. More information about the implications of the transition will be shared with advisors in 2017. Please contact me with any questions in the meantime.
Thank you and best wishes for the 4th of July weekend!
