The Importance of
Internships and Shadowing
|
My
relationship with dentistry wasn’t exactly “written in the stars.” Neither
of my parents are in the profession, and with the exception of my regular
dentist, I had never spoken with someone in the profession. What I did know
from a young age was that I had a passion for helping people. It was this
passion which motivated me to pursue different service opportunities that
would ultimately lead to my introduction to the dental profession. I credit
my early experiences through a series of internships and shadowing as the
spark for my commitment to and love for dentistry.

The ADEA AADSAS®
Instructions Have a NEW Home on ADEA GoDental!
|
The
2017 ADEA Associated American Dental Schools Application Service (ADEA
AADSAS) application cycle will open on June 1, 2016 and the instructions
are now live at ADEA
GoDental. Applicants to dental school can learn about the application
process, updates for this year and other important information. PLUS,
there are short videos on the most important ADEA AADSAS topics to
help applicants and advisors successfully navigate the application.

The National Association of Advisors for the Health
Professions (NAAHP) is hosting the Health
Professions Fair on Saturday, June 18, 2016 from 1:30 -
3:30 p.m. at the Hilton Minneapolis, MN. This is an excellent opportunity
for students interested in a health career to speak with over 170 health
professions schools from around the country!

A major concern for college students is how they will be
able to repay their student loans. If you are one of those students,
recent and proposed changes to loan programs could impact how and what
you borrow, as well as how you repay your student loans.
