Hello!
I am so thrilled to
welcome you to the Fall 2017 semester here at the University of Florida. To
those of you who were here over summer or are returning for another year,
welcome back! To those of you who are just beginning your UF journey, I'm
writing to you with hopes that you'll begin that journey with Dance Marathon.
Now is one of the best times to get involved with our organization. Check out
the following opportunities to get involved!
Captain
Applications
Captains are leaders within our organization who have specific duties
throughout the year depending on their teams. This year, we have 15
different Captain Teams, each of which can be found at www.floridadm.org/captain-teams
Captains are the backbone of Dance Marathon’s leadership on campus and in
the community, and they are essential to maintaining an efficient,
successful event. Captains typically have weekly or biweekly meetings
and are responsible for maintaining a positive, influential reputation of
Dance Marathon year-round.
Dance Marathon
Emerging Leaders Program Applications
The Dance Marathon
Emerging Leaders Program is a brand new way to get involved
with Dance Marathon!
The purpose of the program is to create a
culture of investment in a person's potential. This program will engage
students who have a passion to help others and who believe in our vision
of curing childhood illness. ELP is a great first step for students
who want to get involved with Dance Marathon but may have not been involved
in the past, or may not know how.
Being a member of this program means attending weekly meetings. At these meetings, students will learn more about Dance Marathon, hear from Miracle Families and grow as a leader. Each student will also be assigned to a small group of around 20 students who will help in making UF a new home away from home for each other. More information about the program can be found at www.floridadm.org/emerging-leaders
