The UF Health Disparities
Research and Intervention Program (UF HDRIP) aims to promote health, help
prevent disease, and eliminate health disparities through community-engaged,
interdisciplinary culturally sensitive research, interventions, and policy
development.
The UF HDRIP would like to invite
you to participate in a campus wide photo contest titled Health Disparities
in Living Color. The contest is an opportunity for UF students and
community members to get involved in documenting existing environmental factors
contributing to health disparities in Alachua County.
Students interested in
documenting existing environmental factors that contribute to health
disparities through creative works of expression are encouraged to participate.
Contestants who enter are eligible to win
monetary prizes including a 1st place $100 Visa gift card, a 2nd place $75 Visa
gift card, or a 3rd place $50 Visa gift card. First place winners will have
their submission displayed on the UF HDRIP website. The due date for submission
is April 1, 2016 by 6:00pm.
We ask that you inform students that pictures taken with
individuals should not include the face of the individual. It is acceptable to
include pictures that are taken from the back of the person, or that capture
parts of their body (e.g., arms, hands, legs, feet) but do not include explicit
identifiers such as the person’s face.
This information has been included on our website so that
students who visit the website will be informed of which types of pictures are
acceptable when including individuals.
I have attached a copy of the
flyer for your reference. For more information you or your members can visit http://ufhealthdisparities.med.ufl.edu/ or
contact Ada Ukonu via email at UFHD@Health.ufl.edu.
