COVID-19 and our
Food System: Webinar and Q&A Panel
Thursday, February
18th,
7-8 p.m.
eastern/4-5 p.m. pacific
This free webinar, designed
for college and university students, will explore industrialized animal
agriculture and its role as a breeding ground for zoonoses, as well as how the
COVID-19 pandemic has exposed and exacerbated systemic injustice in the United
States food system. We will cover topics such as the mass “depopulation” of
farm animals, the disproportionate impacts of COVID-19 on agricultural workers
and communities of color, and emerging innovators working to shift our modern
food system to a more just and sustainable one. Following the presentation,
join Farm Sanctuary’s Research Director Lauri Torgerson-White, Manager of
Social Justice Programs Miko Brown, and Humane Educator Aliana Turkel for a Q&A
discussion. Students may register
for the webinar here.
