atmosphere of innovation and inspiration. The College of Health Sciences
at Rush University seeks to prepare superb allied health practitioners, leaders
and managers. In addition to providing 15 outstanding educational
programs www.rushu.rush.edu/health
the college makes meaningful and significant contributions to advancing health
care through research scholarship, service and practice.
Below are a few ways that you and your students may explore
the programs, research and opportunities at Rush University Medical Center:
- Spring
semester information sessions
- College
of Health Sciences Impact magazine
- News clip featuring one of our very own College of
Health Sciences faculty member, Associate Professor and Respiratory
Therapist, Brady Scott
First, please find the attached flyers promoting spring
semester 2021 information sessions for the following graduate programs:
·
M.S. in Clinical Nutrition www.rushu.rush.edu/nutrition
·
M.S. in Medical Laboratory Science www.rushu.rush.edu/mls
·
M.S. in Respiratory Care www.rushu.rush.edu/respiratorycare
Attending an information session,
conducted by College of Health Sciences faculty, is a great way to interact
with professors while also receiving in depth information about a health care
profession, program, curriculum, career outlook and the application
process. Advisors and prospective students are both welcome to
attend sessions. Sharing these flyers with your advisees is most
appreciated!
I have also included an electronic
version of the most recent edition of the College of Health Sciences Impact
magazine (attached). Please take a moment to
read through this year’s edition of the magazine
and learn about all of the incredible work that is being done by our college to
improve health outcomes in our local, national and global communities.
Finally, please view the following
news clip https://abc7chicago.com/8234618/
which sheds light on the ever so important work of
respiratory therapists especially during our current pandemic. As
I am sure you are aware, respiratory therapists (RTs) continue to be on the
front lines of caring for hospitalized patients with COVID-19. They care
for the sickest patients by managing the mechanical ventilators that provide
life-saving breaths. There is a shortage of respiratory therapists which
makes this an ideal health care career choice for those interested in patient
care and the security of employment options.
Thank you for all that you do to
assist students in their academic endeavors and career exploration.
Wishing you the very best.
Be well, stay safe,
Shelley
