Are you looking for ways to serve vulnerable communities during
the spring semester? Interested in personal development time? Join Health Education and Literacy Organization with
Florida National Health Corps this Thursday at 3 p.m. to find out how you can
help!!
The National Health Corps is a paid service program devoted to
fostering healthy communities through health and wellness services to
underserved areas. Members get to work at non-profits, medical and dental
clinics, pharmacies, and public health organizations.
If you’re not graduating yet or would like to volunteer during the
spring semester, consider joining HELO! At HELO we bridge the literacy
disparity that prevents thousands of Americans from accessing better health,
simply due to not understanding. About 44% of
the population reads below an 8th-grade level or cannot read at all, while
health information is usually above a 10th-grade reading level. We work locally
and nationally to reduce this silent epidemic.
Join us this Thursday for our first spring GBM to
find out how you can get involved!!
