An opportunity for undergraduate students has opened up in
our lab starting this summer. We are looking for students to start as soon as
possible.
Task 1: Facilitate patient care by entering and auditing
patient data of children receiving Precision Ketogenic Therapy for epilepsy
This is an opportunity for a student to participate in the
custody of patient data that is used for patient care. Our lab provides
Precision Ketogenic Therapy, a nutritional therapy, to people with intractable
epilepsy (these patients do not respond to medications). Patient data is
collected every 3 to 6 months at clinic visits and consists of daily data as
well as data obtained at clinic. Additionally, recipes for patients on
Precision Ketogenic Therapy need to be created or updated as the patient’s diet
prescription changes. The overall goal of this task is to enter and audit
clinic data and create and update patient recipes so that data can be used to
facilitate patient care. Working knowledge of Microsoft office, particularly
excel and word, is needed. There is an opportunity to start a research project
as skills and understanding of our research program are developed.
