My name is Oliver Peña Morgens, and I serve as the Program Coordinator for PrIMES, a national initiative designed to support underrepresented premedical students. I am reaching out to share an exciting opportunity for pre-health students: the PrIMES Mentorship Program. This program, supported by Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, seeks to empower URiM (Underrepresented in Medicine) pre-med students by pairing them with current medical students or resident physicians as mentors.
PrIMES is dedicated to helping students overcome the unique barriers they face in applying to and matriculating into medical school. Through mentorship, we aim to increase diversity in medical education and provide guidance and support to students from historically underrepresented backgrounds.
We are currently recruiting undergraduate mentees for our 2025 virtual cohort, and I would like to invite UF students to apply. The program is entirely online and requires a commitment of just one hour per week, along with a few online events where mentors and mentees can connect and socialize.
For more information, please visit our website at www.primesmentorship.org. Additionally, you can CLICK HERE to find our flyer that you can share with your students or colleagues.
Students interested in becoming a mentee can visit our website or apply using the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PrIMESapplicationcycle6.
Please, feel free to email with any questions.
Regards,
Oliver Peña Morgens
