Hello everyone!
My name is Paola Rodriguez, and I am a recent UF graduate now doing a community health fellowship with Project Horseshoe Farm, a non-profit organization focused on community health. I am reaching out to share an exciting opportunity for students interested in improving the health of underserved communities through direct service.
Project Horseshoe Farm (PHF) is a non-profit organization with three sites across the U.S.: Greensboro, AL; Marion, AL; and Pomona, CA. As a pre-med student, I was interested in pursuing an opportunity to learn more about social determinants of health and become immersed in a new community. Being a fellow with PHF has allowed me to build meaningful relationships with community members, learn about different types of social services, and connect with individuals of all ages. This is a great gap year opportunity for students who are interested in medicine, social work, or any other career of service to others.
I have attached a flier with more information below. The deadline to apply to the gap year fellowship is February 2nd, 2025. Internship applications are also accepted year-round on a rolling basis. Students interested in applying can also learn more at our website: projecthsf.org.
Thank you so much and I hope you have a great day!
