WVSOM welcomes Class of 2024 |
|
WVSOM welcomed students in its Class of 2024 to campus on July 27 for orientation presentations intended to familiarize them with the resources available and the standards they will be expected to adhere to during their time in medical school. In an effort to limit unnecessary interaction and potential virus spread, the WVSOM Conference Center was divided into sections to accommodate "pods" of about 22 people each, who wore face masks and practiced social distancing during the presentations. Information included safety and emergency procedures, library and information technology resources, the school's ASPIRE (Academic Support and Intervention Resources) team and Rural Health Initiative program, personal protective equipment and COVID-19 safeguards, and a welcome from WVSOM President James W. Nemitz, Ph.D., among other topics. |
