January
31 is the deadline to apply for need-based scholarships, covering 100% of fees
for the March 21-28 Wilderness & Emergency Medicine Pre-Health Channel
Islands class.
The class
is taught by University of Colorado School of Medicine faculty and provides
both Wilderness First Responder and CPR certification. It also provides a
"back door pass" to the world of medicine from those in the field.
After
meeting in Ventura, CA and a talk and hands-on practice with local SAR teams,
we will boat out to our base camp classroom, a research station on Santa Rosa
Island. On the way we'll look for seals, porpoise, and whales!
Classes, with lectures, hands-on skill sessions, and scenarios, will be
held at the research station with time for hikes, beach walks, and gorgeous
sunrises/sunsets.
For those
not eligible for a need-based scholarship there is still a $100 early bird
discount available for enrollments by January 31.
To enroll
or for more information please go to https://www.coloradowm.org/courses/pre-med/channel-islands/ or

Enjoy a
unique adventure and have a blast while moving your medical profession
career forward!
