Assembly for Action Recruitment

Are you interested in learning more about local nonprofits and how you can get involved? Do you want to develop yourself into a community leader and a better applicant for future jobs and grad school? Assembly for Action gives you the chance to win a $2,000 grant to work with a nonprofit in Gainesville to better both yourself and the nonprofit.

Assembly for Action is a four-day conference to teach students more about nonprofit and professional development. We educate and enable students to make a difference in the community through various seminars on subjects including community development, non-profit leadership, entrepreneurship, the ethics of volunteerism, public speaking, and grant writing. If you are chosen as an Action Scholar, then you will work with a nonprofit and your peers to write a grant proposal to implement your project at the nonprofit. Winning grant proposals will be awarded $2,000 to make your proposal a reality.

Previous grant-winning Action Scholars worked with GRACE Grows, Community Weatherization Coalition, Days for Girls, and Healthstreet.

If you are interested in getting involved in this award-winning program, visit assemblyforaction.org/take-action or come to our information session in Pugh Hall on September 27 from 6 to 8 pm.

Carlos Jimenez
