Hi, everyone:
This is just a reminder that the
UF Study Abroad Fair will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 21st, from
10:00-3:00, at the Reitz Union.
As the Director of the 2017 UF
in Cusco – Service Learning for the Health Professions program (and as the
Undergraduate Advisor in Spanish), I encourage you to visit our table at the
Fair to learn about this amazing program. The inaugural 2016 version of
UF in Cusco was a phenomenal success, and this summer promises to be equally
fantastic. With that in mind, I would also point out that the earlier you
apply, the better! We anticipate heavy demand for this summer’s program.
One of the students from the UF in Cusco Class of 2016
(Gaby Lobban) has created a fantastic website to showcase the program. It
is not the UFIC official website, but it does include all pertinent information
+ lots of photos and video regarding the program. It also includes links
to the important UFIC sites (program flyer, application site, etc.).
These links are currently for 2016, but when they are updated by the UFIC for
2017, Gaby will update her website to
reflect the (very minimal) changes.
Here’s the unofficial student-oriented site: www.ufincusco.weebly.com
Also, we will have a pair of
post-Fair UF in Cusco info sessions: Monday, Sept. 26th, and
Thursday, Sept. 29th, both from 4:30-5:45, and both in Dauer Hall
240A.
Hope to see you at one (or more)
of the above-mentioned events!
Take care,
Dr. Moreland
P.S. Note that the pre-requisites (completion by end
of Spring 2017) are as follows: to take SPN 3948 (Service Learning for
the Health Professions) in Cusco, you need to complete SPN 2200 (or equivalent)
beforehand; to take ZOO 4956 (Emerging Disease in the Americas), you need to
have completed BSC 2011 and 2011L, or equivalent.
