AMSA PremedFest for med school prep!! 10/1-10/2 at USF

If you answered YES to either of these questions, then the AMSA PremedFest is where you want to be on October 1^st and 2^nd!!  PremedFest: an event designed for you.  A day and a half dedicated to helping you get into medical school – focusing on your growth as a student, a person, and a future physician!

 

At PremedFest, you won’t just sit in a chair and listen to lectures.  You’ll participate in clinical skill-building sessions, contribute to conversations on justice and ethics, explore advocacy efforts, and talk with physicians from around the country about what the profession of medicine looks like today.

• Get your questions answered about the MCAT, practice and get feedback on your personal statement, and sharpen your interviewing skills with experts.  
• Hear about up-and-coming medical treatments and the changing faces of specialties; go “beyond cold cases” with a forensic pathologist, learn the facts about Zika virus, and hear how organ transplantation really works.
• Gain suturing and other clinical skills in a friendly atmosphere.
• Enjoy a light lunch while mingling with other premedical students and checking out resources and organizations that will help you on your premedical journey!

PremedFest offers you a day and a half that lets you be you … on your journey to med school … surrounded by people who share your goals.

 

Although the PremedFest is geared toward premedical students, ALL pre-health professional students can apply the information to their intended health profession and learn about health care issues important to all health professions. See attached for event flyer and schedule information.

 

This year PremedFest will be located at the University of South Florida conveniently located in Tampa just north of the I-75 and I-4 junction!  So grab some friends and head over for a weekend that will inform and inspire you!
