We are looking for students from all disciplines who are actively doing research pertaining to the theme of Global Food Systems to present their research at the symposium. All details can be found in the attached PDF. The deadline for abstracts is September 21, 2020.
Dear Office of Pre-health Advising, My name is Linzheng (Ling) Shi, and I am the Mentorship Committee Chair of the American Physician Scientists Association (APSA), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing resources for aspiring physician-scientist trainees. Physician-scientists are important to the future of medical advancement and working to improve the way medicine is practiced in all different fields, and APSA is a great resource for students interested in academic medicine and applying to MD/DO, MD/PhD, or DO/PhD programs. One of APSA’s goals is to provide opportunities for physician-scientist trainees to develop skills needed for future careers in academic medicine and industry, including trainee mentorship. To accomplish this goal and to provide insight to prospective graduate and professional school applicants, we are starting the seventh year of our Undergraduate Mentorship program. The goal of this program is to connect APSA students (MD, DO, MD/PhD, and DO/PhD) with undergraduates who are interested in careers as physician-scientists in one-on-one mentor-mentee relationships. We would appreciate it if you could forward this message to any undergraduate student who is interested in medicine! The application is found here and is due October 15th. Aside from our undergraduate mentorship program, undergraduate students can become associate members of APSA to have access and up to date information about all of these opportunities. We also can help students start local chapters if interested in developing more resources on a local level. Undergraduates can also find out more relevant information through the Undergraduate Resources webpage here! Thank you for your time, consideration, and support for undergraduate education! Please reach out to us at askmentorship@physicianscientists.org with any questions. We look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, The American Physician Scientists Association (APSA)

Mental Health Support for Pre-Health Students (a.k.a. the MHS Club) is a new organization that seeks to provide an open space for dialogue about mental health, including how it pertains to healthcare professions and professional school students. We also serve as a support group for any students who may feel isolated or misunderstood due to their mental struggles. All of our meetings and events will be held via Zoom this semester. Our first GBM is on September 9 at 5:00 PM EST. Please join our Facebook group to learn more!
All the best,
Tori Argenti
My name is Samantha Price, and I am currently the Vice President of Recruitment for a medical fraternity here on campus called Phi Delta Epsilon.
We are recruiting new members this fall, and I am reaching out to see if our information could be shared on this listserv. If this is possible, I have attached 2 flyers to share and what we would like our announcement to say below:
"Are you a pre-medical student looking for a community of supportive pre-meds? Phi Delta Epsilon is UF’s only co-ed medical fraternity here on campus, and they are recruiting new members! See the flyers attached for information about their rush process and scan the QR code to add yourself to their email list and stay updated!"
Please let me know if this would be possible. We would really appreciate it! Also, if there is someone else I should be reaching out to, please let me know.
Thank you in advance. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Best,
Samantha Price
