Phi Delta Epsilon Anatomy Fashion Show

Hi Pre-Health students! I’m Tanay Parwal, a member of Phi Delta Epsilon, a pre-medical academic co-ed fraternity. We will be hosting our inaugural Anatomy Fashion Show on Friday October 22nd  at 7 PM in the Reitz Grand Ballroom!

PhiDE students walk the runway in the Reitz ballroom to showcase different artists’ renditions of the human body.  Models wear spandex and are painted head-to-toe with paint, each showcasing a different body system. Students from community organizations join as models, painters, performers, and audience members. All the money raised at the event will be going to Children’s Miracle Network, a nonprofit organization that raises funds for children’s hospitals and treatments in the United States and Canada.

Ticket can be purchased at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/inaugural-anatomy-fashion-show-2021-tickets-189354172427. There will be live entertainment, raffles, merchandise, and a networking mixer, giving you the opportunity to meet with UF faculty, physicians, and other organizations!

Please see the attached flyer for more information. On behalf of PhiDE, thank you for your time and consideration, and we hope to see you there! Follow us on Instagram @ufphide!

Dream Team involvement opportunity

Dream Team at the University of Florida is a student run, non-profit organization that is dedicated to brightening the lives of the children in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at UF Health Shands Children's Hospital. Our patients often have complicated cardiovascular conditions, and many spend extended periods of time in the hospital. Dream Team Volunteering aims to dedicate time and service to these children and their families.

Dream Team is hosting our 4th annual 5K fundraiser to help raise money for special in-hospital events as well as engineering projects for the amazing children on the 10th floor of Shands Hospital. Every year, Dream Team normally has the 5K fundraiser on campus but this year it is a little different…its virtual!

Participate by walking, jogging, or running 3.1 miles any time between March 22nd and March 28th! It can be done from wherever you are whether it's a treadmill or in your local park or neighborhood! Decide whether you want to participate as a solo venture or alongside family/friends (socially distanced, of course!) and make sure that everyone registers. Plan where and when your 5k would be best for you! Then submit your time through their website for a chance to win prizes from sponsors like Mi Apa, Swamp Boil, Study Edge and more!

There is a fee to register. However, your payment is contributing to special events and engineering projects that will benefit the children in the PICU and PCICU at Shands Hospital! Get active with us for a good cause!

To learn more about Dream Team and to register for the event, visit https://www.ufdreamteam.org/event-details/

SAFER

SAFER (Sexual Assault Advocacy, Fundraising, Education, and Resources). SAFER is dedicated to supporting students who have experienced sexual assault, violence, and/or trauma, along with promoting awareness and allyship. We aim to connect students with on- and off-campus resources and to combat stigmas surrounding these initiatives through fundraising, service, and education events.

We are currently seeking to connect with students who would like to join our efforts and community in any way. We hope to initiate conversations with survivors and allies to develop a plan of action for our organization. If you are interested in joining and/or participating in these conversations, please fill out our interest form (bit.ly/saferinterest). We will then include you in future updates. Feel free to reach out via Instagram (@safergville) or email (studentsforsaferuf@gmail.com) with any questions, suggestions, or concerns.

Kind regards,
