Youth Mental Health First Aid Trainings with Recognition, Empowerment, and Action for Child Mental Health

Project Recognition, Empowerment, and Action for Child Mental Health (REACH) is hosting two upcoming online youth mental health first aid trainings! Our upcoming online trainings are scheduled for Tuesday, November 12th and Thursday November 14th from 2:00pm-4:30pm.

Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders among youth.

This training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to youth who may be developing a mental health or substance use challenge and help connect them to the appropriate care. The course will teach you how to apply the ALGEE action plan:

  • Assess for risk of suicide or harm
  • Listen nonjudgmentally
  • Give reassurance and information
  • Encourage appropriate professional help
  • Encourage self-help and other support strategies

The course is offered to you at no cost through a federal grant, but is valued at $170 per person. All participants will also receive a $25 gift card! Please ensure this funding does not go to waste by communicating any cancellations in advance.

You must be 18 to participate in the training. Register here!
