Wilmot Botanical Gardens is dedicated to advancing patient care, research, and service through plant interactions, education, and research in its verdant natural spaces and growing therapeutic horticulture program. It is a place of respite on campus for students, employees, and patients from nearby medical plazas to escape stressors such as work stress, health issues, and mental fatigue, where one can gain some balance, relaxation, and exercise.
Our project seeks to have a better understanding of how visitors are using these gardens, including: who visits the gardens, what areas visitors prefer, what activities visitors engage in, how long visitors stay, etc.
As a volunteer, you will be visiting the gardens on campus and record data on the visitors who come by. We highly encourage students to take a little mental health break out of their day at our gardens and bask in the beautiful nature, while simultaneously earning volunteer hours and experience in analytical research!
Scan the QR code attached in the flyer to sign up and we will shortly reach out to you for more information. Please let us know through email or GroupMe if you have any questions and we would love to see you out in the gardens!
