UF Habitat Bi-Weekly Update - GBM #6!

 

Hello everyone,

Thank you to anyone who came out and volunteered on the build this weekend! We’re sorry the November 4th build ended up being cancelled, but the good news is we were able to clean up the build sites even further this weekend, and even begin the framing for our first house. Before you know it, our concrete floors will pop up into a building! The builds at this stage of the house are always some of the most interesting and involved, so be sure to sign up. If you couldn’t make it and are looking to get involved still, don’t worry because we’ve got some good news for you: this week marks General Body Meeting #6!

 

Our next General Body Meeting will be held on Tuesday, 11/14 at 7:20PM in Rinker 240, same time and place as always. There is a Facebook event set up in case you’d like a reminder the day of so you don’t accidentally miss it or show up late. At this meeting we will be discussing some upcoming events which are also detailed in this email, as well as future events which we are seeking volunteers and participants for. Don’t forget to sign up for the build after the meeting! We are still selling our BRAND NEW SHIRTS at this meeting, so be sure to bring cash, card, or have your Venmo ready! Prices range between 15-20$ depending on which model you get.

After the meeting we will be having a S’more Social! Be sure to stick around, and we will all walk over to the fire pit together and start cookin’!

 

 

We will also be having another fundraiser on Wednesday, 11/15, the day after our 6th General Body Meeting. The restaurant SweetBerries Eatery & Frozen Custard on NW.13th St. has generously let us hold a Habitat night there, where a percentage of the proceeds will go to the club any time between 6:00PM and 10:00PM. This event is worth 3 points towards your total in the club, and an easy opportunity to get a lot at once. At least one officer will be there the whole time with a sign in sheet, so don't forget to put your name on it. SweetBerries is known for its ice cream and custards, but it also has regular entrées as well! Bring your friends - this should be a fun fundraiser that you can get a delicious meal out of, or just stop in for a quick dessert to treat yourself before finals season begins.
