Hi, everyone:
The Study Abroad Fair is now over, we had a nice pair of
post-Fair info sessions, and now it’s time to
look at a few numbers related to
the UF in Cusco – Service Learning for the Health Professions
program (Summer A
2017).
*$5,776. This is the cost of the program, and I
guarantee you that this is a true study abroad
bargain. This is
not a salesperson talking, it is the 100% truth. I have been involved in
the business
of study abroad for about 15 years, and this program provides more
value than I have ever seen. UF
faculty, service placements, beautiful
setting, mind-blowing excursions, etc., etc.—UF in Cusco has it
all! J
*$12. This is the cost of the one textbook you
will need. Not bad, eh?
*2. This is the number of students who have
already signed up. Doesn’t sound like many, right?
Wrong. J That two students have ALREADY
signed up for a study abroad program this early (and it
IS very early) tells
you something about student interest and demand for the program. You
don’t
need to sign up “tomorrow,” but my advice is to NOT wait until…
*…February 3, 2017, which is the application
deadline. The program flyer contains some incorrect information. UF in
Cusco has an earlier deadline, February 3rd, because we need to
arrange the
service placements for all our students.
*M, 12:00-3:00 and W, 2:00-5:00. These are my
Fall office hours (1B Dauer Hall). Stop by if you have questions, and/or
to have your UF in Cusco sheet signed. The official sign-up process takes
place via the UFIC website, but there is one “old-school” piece of paper that
requires my signature.
Check out our student-produced website: www.ufincusco.weebly.com
(which includes a link to the UFIC application page)
Take care,
Dr. Moreland
P.S. In an upcoming message, I’ll provide more
information regarding scholarships.
