Looking for a research position?
We are looking for motivated and hardworking students to join our
group. Our research involves proteomic-based, neurological injury studies on
human and animal models associated with traumatic brain injury (TBI). We are
interested in novel biomarkers found in TBI, as well as their specific function
in the neural degeneration commonly associated with TBI.
Some requirements are a minimum 3.6 GPA, be able to devote at
least 20 hours a week to the group (more hours are preferred, as well as those
with flexible schedules), able to learn quickly and work independently, strong
organizational skills, and have transportation to the McKnight Brain Institute.
Also, it is preferred that the students have finished biochemistry (BCH4024 or
CHM3218) and analytical chemistry (CHM3120).
Duties include: sample preparation, protein separation (Western
blot), cell culturing, data entry, and general lab maintenance.
If you are interested or have any questions, please email both
Michael Guertin and Brian Lelling, whose emails are mpg1020@ufl.edu and blelling@ufl.edu, respectively. Please
attach a copy of your CV.
