Reminder - GMiS STEM Scholarships Deadline - May 1, 2020

Graduating High School Seniors, Undergraduate Students and Graduate Students:

Don't delay in gathering the necessary documents including official transcripts and faculty letters of recommendation, to submit a complete GMiS STEM Scholarship application.

Applicants are invited to visit the GMiS Website for further details on the application requirements, - personal statement, official transcript, resume, faculty letter of recommendation and peer letter of recommendation.

GMiS merit-based scholarships range from $500 - $10,000.  These scholarships are offered through the generous contributions from leading Fortune 500 companies, national government agencies, and private donors.  Applicants must demonstrate merit through academic achievement, leadership, service and campus/community engagement.
SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY:

Hispanic descent and/or demonstrate significant leadership or service within the underserved community;

Graduating high school seniors, undergraduate students or graduate students;

Pursuing or intending to pursue a science, technology, engineering, math or health-related field of study at an accredited 2-yr or 4-yr college/university in the U.S. or its territories; and

Possessing an overall minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale).

Kaplan is here to help support you and your students navigate the MCAT test updates and AMCAS submission changes. This email contains a recap of the recent announcement details as well as an invitation for you and your students to attend a free event, “AAMC Announcement: What’s Next?”.

MCAT announcement details: 
  • View AAMC’s recent MCAT updates - please note that some incorrect dates and test details were circulated by the AAMC last Friday. The correct details are listed below and are being updated on appropriate websites. 
  • Kaplan’s COVID-19 MCAT FAQ page has been updated. 
  • Three additional test dates have been added:

    • September 28, 2020
  • Test start times: 
    • Morning: 6:30 AM 
    • Afternoon: 12:15 PM

  • Registration reopens May 7, 2020 
  • The MCAT testing time has been shortened for the duration of 2020 test dates to accommodate three administrations each testing day. According to the AAMC website, the new structure of the exam will be as follows:
