Greetings from AAVMC!  With the VMCAS 2018 application opening tomorrow (eeek!) I have updated the annual webinar listings to include the VMCAS 2018 Application Workshop! Here is a list of all of our offerings:
The Road To Veterinary School
Audience: Pre-Veterinary Students; Pre-Vet & Pre-Health Advisors
Summary: learn how to prepare for the VMCAS application and find out what you should be doing during your early undergraduate career leading up to applying for veterinary school
Schedule: Monthly (May, June and July)
VMCAS 2018 Workshops
Audience: VMCAS 2018 Applicants; Pre-Vet & Pre-Health Advisors
Summary: Join VMCAS staff and ask questions about your application, troubleshoot and generally learn about the application and the entire process of applying.

The Veterinary Medical College Application Service (VMCAS) will launch this Thursday, May 11th, 2017 for 2018 matriculation!

Please remind your applicants that the goal is to have a VERIFIED application by the Deadline, September 15th, 2017 @ 12 Midnight, Eastern Time (not to submit by the deadline).

PART-TIME ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT EMPLOYMENT FOR PHPB STUDENTS (hours by arrangement)

Patient Responsibilities include:

·         Answering phone calls and helping patients with questions

·         Scheduling appointments for new and existing patients

·         Ensuring that patients fill out necessary paperwork and processing the completed paperwork

·         Checking patients in and collecting insurance information

·         Handling incoming referrals and scheduling new patient appointments from these referrals

·         Creating superbills with verified insurance information for upcoming patient appointments

·         Renaming, uploading and organizing incoming faxes

·         Functioning as a link for communication between patients and doctors

Staff Education responsibilities include:

·         Training technician staff on writing SOAP notes, scheduling, handling incoming referrals, faxes, scans, reminder calls and other front office duties

·         Training clerical staff on scanning, naming and uploading documents, faxes, scans and incoming referrals.

Dental School Applicant Virtual Fair


Applicants are invited to learn about the ADEA AADSAS application on the first day of the 2017 ADEA GoDental Virtual Fairs! Attendees can take advantage of exclusive access to ADEA AADSAS staff to learn what to expect from the new application and to get answers to specific questions.

On May 21, individuals can log in to ADEA AADSAS Prep Day Live to:

  • Watch presentations about the ADA Dental Admission Test (DAT) and an overview of the ADEA Associated American Dental Schools Application Service (ADEA AADSAS).
  • Chat live with a loan repayment strategist and representatives from the ADEA AADSAS Fee Assistance Program (FAP).
  • Download videos, brochures and other dental school information from U.S. dental school exhibitors.    

In addition, the event features a second day (June 15) when attendees can chat live with representatives from over 50 dental schools!

Registration is available on ADEA GoDental. Individuals only need to register once to access this free, online, two-part event.
