Study Abroad in Ireland

Dr. Reynolds will be taking a group of students over to Ireland in Summer B, 2017. They will be staying at University College Dublin and will be traveling the island to visit historic sites, including castles and farms.  The trip is for six weeks. In those weeks, you will earn credit for ENC2305 (which is also C and 6,000 words) and will take an IDS sociology course with an Irish instructor, so you will get 6-credit hours for the trip.

Space is limited, which means you should apply right away.  The absolute deadline for this course is March 15th.  To aid in the cost, a few scholarships being awarded by study abroad office, but you will have to move quickly to get them. You can still sign up even if you are applying for the scholarship too!

Research Workshop


The Center for Undergraduate Research Board of Students (CURBS) is hosting the following workshop next week, open to all students at UF:

“How to Give an Effective Oral Research Presentation”

Are you presenting research at an upcoming symposium, conference, or even just for class? Then this workshop has you covered! Learn how to give an effective oral research presentation from guest speakers Christopher Brewer and Rachel Lo! Chris and Rachel are both graduate students at UF, and run the monthly Undergraduate Research Seminar series, in which students have the opportunity to practice their research presentations skills to peers and faculty. The ability to give an effective presentation is a great skill for anyone to have, and even if you do not have an upcoming presentation, this workshop can help you prepare for future endeavors. All students are welcome, and pizza will be provided!
