My name is MaryKate Arbuckle, and I am the Overall Director of Recruitment for Dance Marathon here at UF reaching out again. Because we work so closely with UF Health Shands Children's Hospital, I think that many Pre-Health students would benefit from being involved in our student-run organization.
Dance Marathon at the University of Florida is a campus tradition that celebrates and advocates for children’s health, and it is such a great way to get involved in our community. We raise funds and awareness benefitting UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital, so this is such a great opportunity for anyone involved in Pre-Health to connect with the hospital! As we celebrate our 30th year, we wanted to share with you all a volunteer involvement opportunity. This walks students through all things DM at UF, our local hospital, Children’s Miracle Network, and more! We provide volunteer opportunities at Shands, service hours, and inspirational stories from many of our Miracle Children, Teens, and Families that have been treated by a Children's Miracle Network hospital. Being a part of DM at UF helps to connect students to both the hospital and our community as we serve and learn more about the life saving care and research taking place at Shands Children’s Hospital. This opportunity helps to build leadership, mentorship relationships, and connections to both the hospital and UF Health Leadership. It is a great experience that you all can use in your future healthcare careers!
