Global Health Corps Fellowship Applications & Community Updates

Dear friends, At a time when the state of the world is particularly heartbreaking, I hope you're finding time to connect with those closest to you. I personally have been hugging my family extra tight. One thing that keeps me grounded when the world feels especially heavy is the work our staff, fellows, and alumni are doing across the Global Health Corps network to make the world more equitable. I hope you’ll read on for some inspiring updates from our community, and join us in celebrating progress even as so much work remains. Warmly,Heather AndersonCEO, Global Health Corps

Pictured above: GHC's 2023-2024 Africa Fellowship cohort at Training Institute in Rwanda.
Who will GHC be looking for? We're seeking professionals between the ages of 21-30 from a range of backgrounds who are passionate about health equity and looking to grow their leadership capacity. Most roles do not require clinical training or prior public health experience. Who can apply and what's new this year? Citizens of our operating countries of Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, and Zambia are still eligible to apply AND we are thrilled to also invite citizens of the following countries to apply: Burundi, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe. We also invite citizens of our four operating countries to apply for roles in other operating countries (so, a Malawian fellow can be placed in Rwanda, for example).
What do GHC fellows do? For one year, fellows fill roles within Ministries of Health, grassroots and international NGOs, and academic and social enterprises in Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, and Zambia. They access GHC's leadership development offerings: a living stipend; quarterly trainings; skill building with world-class partners; coaching and mentorship; opportunities for public speaking and writing; community building and integration into GHC's global network. How can potential applicants start preparing? Learn more about the fellowship journey and the application process, check out the fellowship benefits and logistics, and review the application preview
Highlights from #UNGA78
The GHC community showed out at UNGA in September! We were so excited to see GHC-ers from far and wide convening in New York to discuss the progress of SDGs and the work they're doing to advance them. Alongside our friends at Teach for All, we hosted an event uplifting the work of the People First Community–emphasizing the critical need to invest in next gen leaders. Pictured above: GHC staff, alumni, and partners partaking in UNGA in New York City.
