Pride Awareness Month will be hosting a workshop to engage pre-health students
on health care competency regarding LGBTQ+ and cultural competencies. Students
that want to work with underserved populations are encouraged to come, as well
as anyone with interests in health disparities or who would want to improve the
quality of care they’d provide.
Attendees will learn about general LGBTQ terminology / basics, health disparities, and respectful patient care. There will also be 3 rotating workshops on Culturally Competent Care, Histories of Mistrust & Abuse in Healthcare, and Creating Welcoming Environments as a Provider. Pride Awareness Month is fortunate to work with UF College of Medicine’s Health Queer Alliance. Please RSVP using the following link: https://goo.gl/forms/c2au9tf8s5UdtyW02
