Full time OPS position for Fall graduates!!!


Full-time Clinical Research Position (OPS) at the UF Musculoskeletal Pain/Fatigue Research Lab.

Our lab works on understanding the mechanisms of chronic pain and fatigue, and the applicant will only work with human participants! You will spend one-on-one time with an experienced principal investigator (Medical Doctor) learning or improving the skills required for clinical research. This is a position that provides ample instructions and allows for the development of new skill necessary for working with human research subjects. This is an excellent position for new graduates looking for research experience.  Minimum time commitment required is one year (two years preferred). Previous research experience is not required but appreciated!

Essential Research Functions:

·         Prepare and assist in human brain imaging studies (fMRI)

·         Prepare participants (subjects) for lab experimentation

·         Quantitative Sensory Testing of participants (thermal, mechanical, electrical, and chemical testing)

·         Evaluate and discuss data with Principal Investigator

·         Apply psychological tests

·         Develop excellent communication skills (you are going to work with human participants)

·         Supervise student volunteers and familiarize them with research protocols

·         Recruit subjects for clinical studies (phone calls, flyers, TV advertising, etc.)

·         Maintain database for data analysis

Applicants will receive a competitive salary ($13 - $16/h) and must be willing to commit to at least a year. This is a FULL-TIME position. Applicant must be available for 40 hours a week during the hours of 8 am-5 pm

The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) is excited to announce a new resource now available to students to help them as they prepare for the MCAT exam. “How I Studied for the MCAT Exam” includes profiles for 17 students who self-identified as having performed well on the exam. PCAT Announcement - Feb 2017 Administration


PCAT Announcement:

Pearson is opening an additional test administration as requested by the PCAT Advisory Committee for the 2016-17 admission cycle.  The administration is scheduled from February 1-14, 2017.  Registration will open on December 19 at PCATweb.info.  Please note that all scheduling is on a first-come, first-served basis.  Candidates should register no later than January 18, 2017.  Registering anytime thereafter will incur a late fee.  

Important dates to communicate to interested PCAT candidates are listed below.

Registration and Scheduling Opens: 12/19/2016

Mar. 18 ADEA Recruitment Event: Save the Date


2017 PSOMER Pritzker School of Medicine Experience in Research


The Pritzker School of Medicine Experience in Research is an NIH-sponsored summer pipeline program held on the University of Chicago campus. Students apply from around the country to participate in a rigorous, mentored, and highly supportive experience, and are provided with on-campus housing as well as a generous stipend. Participants in the program are rising college seniors or students rising into a post baccalaureate program.  Applicants must be US citizens or have Permanent Resident status. The program seeks students who come from disadvantaged backgrounds and/or who represent groups that are known to be underrepresented in health related sciences and medicine. 

The deadline for submission is January 13th,  2017. It is necessary to complete the online application to be considered for the program. More information can be found on the PSOMER webpage. If you have any questions regarding the process of application or any of the requirements, please contact the Pritzker School of Medicine Office of Multicultural Affairs.
